The Grandiose Entrance
Dear Henry,
With less than 20 days now until your grandiose entrance into this place called earth, I’m writing one of my last posts for this portion of my experience during mamas pregnancy as a daddy to be.
Everyday I have the absolute honor and privilege to wake up next to and observe mama through this triumphant feat that she is enduring. Through the sleepless nights, a body that goes between aches, pains, or significant discomfort, mama still glows and is beyond excited to meet you.
These observations throughout a daddy to be’s experience during the first pregnancy has been special to be apart of as of now. Seeing and feeling you move inside moms belly is always a great sigh of relief and excitement. The ultrasounds make it feel more real, hitting the milestones like 25 weeks during the pregnancy was reassurance that you are okay and healthy. Watching mom craft the perfect nursery as we put it all together. The baby shower was a phenomenal day, another milestone and step closer to meeting you.
With less than 20 days, I’ve been continuously envisioning the day you arrive. I can’t imagine the labor and delivery portion but I do know that mama will be so strong and persevere during the most vigorous experiences she’ll ever come across. I can imagine holding you and sharing those precious moments with mama. Looking into your beautiful eyes and rocking you back and forth as mom gets much deserved rest. Setting the foundation to be the best father to you. The pillars I will stand by will be to always listen, respect your thoughts or choices, provide and teach you the resources and skills to be successful, kind, and willing to help others.
Mom and I will do everything in our absolute power to make you happy, feel loved, and guide you in the direction you want your life to be.
I love you son with every ounce of my being.
