Dear Henry and to the Father I Hope to Be,

With everyone’s journey being different, we all have a common denominator and that is a dad. Granted for some it’s not the best relationship, while others it’s the greatest bond they’ll ever have.

I’ve been given an overwhelmingly incredible experience with a plethora of fathers in my life from my dad where we may not have always had the best of relationships but he is someone who has tried and the relationship we are building now is one I hope to carry on forever. To Steve, who gave us the love, devotedness, and warmth. To Dave, who was someone I could go to not just to mess with him but to also someone I could depend on. To Gramps, who showed me passion, heart, and kindness. To Matt, who is genuine, humorous, and true. To Mike, my soon to be Father in Law! He is a quintessential resemblance of what a father should be with the balance of fun and firmness.

Henry, in less than a handful of weeks I’ll be able to hold your hand and help you as you begin this expedition we call life. I hope to utilize a piece of all of these wonderful men in raising you. From love, passion, dependable, genuine, kindness, fun, and firmness. While adding my own flair to it, I hope to be the best father I can be to you.
